New York City Anniversary
Alyssa and Brennan are past clients. I shot their wedding here in Utah and they have since moved to New York City. While visiting the Big Apple recently, I reached out to previous clients I knew in the area to see if anyone wanted to have some fun with a spur of the moment shoot! Brennan reached out to me with the idea of surprising Alyssa with an anniversary session at the New York Public Library and I was all for it!! How sweet, right?! Well, unbeknownst to me, I was in New York the same weekend of the NYC marathon. Talk about complications…
Fact: When shooting in NYC, you have to shoot at sunrise. This is because it is the only time you can shoot at NYC landmarks like the library without a ton of people in the background.
Also fact: After waking up at the crack of dawn to go shoot, it is (of course) raining. However, Brennan & Alyssa decide that the show must go on! As we walk out of the hotel to get to the library, I notice that the area is completely blocked off for the marathon!!
Luckily, this Utah gal was able to sweet talk her way into getting a handsome security guard to let us go past the tape in order to make the shoot happen!
This shoot was SO fun! It was so great getting to explore the city with these lovebirds and to hear all about how life has been treating them since their wedding. They were so gracious and down for anything despite our complications. They were even willing to walk across the street seventeen million times to get that one shot of them in the crosswalk with taxis behind them (pictured below).
Happy Anniversary, Brennan and Alyssa!
