Black & White Engagement Session at Interlope Island

What do you do when a bride sends you black and white inspiration for her engagement session? You embrace it FULLY!

Avery came to me with inspiration of stunning black and white engagement images full of life. She mentioned that she really wanted her images to show how in love they are with one another with playful shots and a ton of movement.

I LOVED that, and I think we captured exactly what she was looking for!

We had their engagement session at Interlope Island which was the perfect place for their black and white session.

Capturing Movement with Unposed Prompts

But how do you get movement in a still photograph? It’s all in the prompts!👏🏻

Tip for photographers: Look up Unposed

Unposed is a company that has a collection of prompts and games for you to share with your couples (and families!) to capture more natural images or — like in Avery and Jackson’s — movement.

For Avery and Jackson’s black and white engagement session, I gave them a ton of “running” and “moving” prompts, to capture that movement vibe. You can see the results in their gallery below!

Avery and Jackson got married in a beautiful winter wedding at the Draper LDS Temple, and I cannot wait to share those images with you. One thing I am obsessed over is that Avery chose to wear her great grandmother’s wedding dress from the 1940’s. 😍 Talk about tying classy and nostalgia together perfectly.

But until then, enjoy Avery and Jackson’s black and white engagement session at Interlope Island, with all the movement.
