I hope everyone had an AMAZING Christmas! We certainly did! As we prepare to venture back to Utah and a White New Year (we missed the White Christmas here in the OC), I thought it was the perfect time to blog this adorable couple’s winter wedding. Alyssa & Dylan’s Salt Lake Temple ceremony followed by a SUPER elegant Joseph Smith Memorial Building wedding reception was nothing short of a JOY to be a part of!
From the Bride
When I asked Alyssa what her favorite moment of her wedding day was, she told me that would be IMPOSSIBLE! Every second was pure bliss. She loved the dinner and hearing the toasts from the people she and Dylan love most in the world. She loved the elegant reception at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and dancing until their feet hurt. Alyssa said she is SO grateful for her mom, who put her whole heart into prepping for their big day, and she made it the most magical experience ever for her (AWWW)!
When asked what she wants to remember the most about her wedding day, Alyssa said she wants to remember those raw emotions that kept us moving through the day. It was all so real and unforgettable. They loved being surrounded by those they loved most, all in the same place at the same time. Alyssa said she especially never wants to forget getting to the Salt Lake Temple in the morning and having their dads give them father’s blessings before they went into the Temple. It was so tender to have that quiet time together, just the two of them with their parents. (P.S. I LOVE this idea!)
The happy couple left the cold after their reception and headed to HAWAII! Alyssa said it was pretty amazing going from freezing Utah to hot sun…I bet! They came home to a huge pile of presents from all their amazing friends and family…some were useful, some were quirky, but they honestly didn’t really take anything back. Alyssa said, “We just invited some pretty darn good gift givers!” Alyssa’s response when I asked her if they had a favorite is just CLASSIC Alyssa, “I can’t pick a favorite because I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings!” This girl, you guys. You will never meet a sweeter, more genuine person. I loved getting to know her and Dylan and wish them all the happiness in the world!
