Kimberly + Jacques | Married {Destination Wedding Photographer}

I don’t even know where to start with this wedding post….I have THE biggest spot in my heart for this incredible bride and groom (and their entire families). I was lucky enough to meet these two at a wedding I was shooting while out in Boston for their best friends Christen and Franco, and was SO excited that we would all be together again in BEAUTIFUL St. Lucia to celebrate Kimberly and Jacques! These four are SO much fun and I knew that we would have a blast during wedding week in the tropical and romantic island! Can I just tell you how incredibly honored I felt to not only shoot their wedding but to be able to spend all week celebrating them, their love and with the people closest to them. St. Lucia completely took my breath away (and made me sweat buckets all at the same time), and I felt so inspired there by everything around me. That whole week I basically lived with my camera attached to my hands and even my husband got used to me taking it everywhere we went which was a huge step for him! 🙂 We arrived a few days before their nuptials would take place and were able to hang out with them, relax, play in the pool and just take everything in before getting down to business which was such a fun change of pace! I think everyone should have a wedding week!! This was my first international destination wedding, and I must say these two set the bar incredibly high. From the moment we checked into our rooms until the moment they left for their honeymoon (yes they planned a honeymoon cruise even after their romantic week in St. Lucia!!) they were constantly showering us with gifts. I felt SO incredibly loved and so welcomed into their family and lives, it was UNREAL! Here we were there to celebrate their new journey as husband and wife, and they went above and beyond to think of EVERYTHING and provide the coolest environment for each on of their guests. Again, they will forever hold a spot in my little photographer’s heart!

So the big day finally arrived, and the forecast threatened rain. I was a little heart broken. I wanted so badly for them to have clear skies, and as the clouds came and went, I slowly started to think we would get through the day without a soaking bride! Then, 5 minutes before she was to walk down the sand to her man….it POURED! So we all scattered for coverage and put the ceremony on a slight hold until it passed. Lucky for us, someone turned the faucet off 5 minutes later and we were a go! It turned out to be a GORGEOUS afternoon and the rain left for good! The sunset was a gorgeous one and we celebrated under a beautiful sky and then danced the night away!
