I thought today would be the PERFECT day to blog these gorgeous Laguna Beach engagements at seven4one, since Leyna and Colin are getting married TOMORROW! I know, you are all back in Utah in the snow and I’m all like, I’m in Orange County, so….. Anyway, sorry, had to get one little “brag” in there.
BUT, back to these engagements.
How They Met
Leyna and Colin met in Las Vegas about four years ago. Colin was there for a bachelor party and Leyna was there for fun with some girlfriends. They met at a club called Excess and hung out all the next day at the pool. They dated long distance for about 10 maths before Colin found a job out by Leyna and moved out to be with her. Awww, SO romantic!
The Session
Funny story. Leyna was totally convinced she didn’t want any engagement photos, and wouldn’t have time for a session before the wedding. Let me first preface this by saying I REALLY love to do at least one session (even if it’s a mini one!) with a couple before their wedding day, for a number of reasons. But first and foremost, I want to make sure you and your love are totally comfortable behind my camera! No one wants to get to their wedding day and not know what to expect when it comes to the romantic portrait time. Second, it’s a great excuse to get out and scope your venue at the time of day your wedding will be OR, if you know your venue is going to be super bright or dark on the day of, you can get some great shots of it when the light is perfect! Another great reason to do an engagement session or mini session is to have adorable pics of you and your LOVE just as you are, no dress, no tux, just you.
Anyway, back to Leyna and Colin. So, they weren’t going to do an engagement shoot, but as we planned to go check out their venue, Seven4One in Laguna Beach, Leyna decided that if we were going to be looking at the venue and how the light was on the beach at the time of her pictures that we might as well be shooting during our visit, YAY! And I am SO glad we did too. I mean, look how incredibly GORG these two are! Jackpot!
