Malibu Engagements
When Kiki contacted me about shooting engagements on Matador Beach in Malibu for her and Marvin…I was elated!!! I have known Kiki since she was about twelve years old, kicking the soccer ball around the field and doing her famous flip throw! She has grown into a GORGEOUS and hardworking woman and I knew that whoever she ended up with would have to be equally as amazing!
Marvin did not disappoint. What a guy! I was so excited to spend the afternoon with them. There was no shortage of smiles, laughter and you can bet there was a whole lot of smooches! Being a CA beach girl myself…I was in heaven!
Matador Beach has gorgeous views, the most dreamy light and these two were the icing on the cake! We followed it by driving down the Malibu coastline and enjoying tacos at the most amazing Mexican restaurant! Literally my idea of a perfect work day!!
Advice For Beach Sessions
When it comes to color palette, you simply cannot go wrong. The beach is so neutral, so any color will look good!
Wear long, flowy dresses. Of course, this is by no means a requirement. However, these are so romantic and whimsical on the beach!
Wear something you do not have to wear shoes with- especially if we are going to be on the beach! It’s just more natural when you’re barefoot.
The best thing about shooting on the beach is the LIGHTING. You get the prettiest, most golden warm tones. This is my absolute FAVORITE lighting to shoot in.
