Utah has some of the cutest families…like this one!
I have known Hilary since I started my business. As a matter of fact, the Call family is one of the first families I ever photographed. Needless to say, it has been especially sweet for me to watch their little family grow!
I loved this session for so many reasons. First of all, just look at Hilary’s Free People dress. It’s got those earthy vibes and is so rich in color. I love how well it went with the setting of their session. Now, take a look at the coordinated color palette she went with for her family’s session…
I know, right?! She’s basically my inspiration.
Hilary came into the session with zero expectations when it came to kiddos- specifically her twin one year old boys. This certainly alleviated some pressure on me. As a family photographer, you always want to make sure you give the family the images they’re expecting, but working with toddlers (specifically 1-3 year olds) makes that a bit of a challenge. The truth is, you just never know if they are going to cooperate.
This session was an extremely easy going, whatever happens, happens kind of shoot and I loved every bit of it! Let me tell you why…
I am convinced that my very best work shines through when I know that parents are not stressed out over getting those “perfect” images or whatever it is that society deems as perfect (everyone looking at the camera and smiling, etc.). Realistically, as a mom of three kids, that rarely happens. Real life with toddlers looks like nothing short of a whole bunch of crazy and chaos. But you know what? There’s beauty in the crazy. It’s all about learning how to embrace it and go with the flow.
Family sessions like this one give you, in my opinion, the absolute best of memories.
Why? Because they’re more true to who you are.
