Spring Engagements
Ok, let’s be real. I have Spring Fever BAD right now! It always seems to happen mid-February when winter takes a little break, the sun comes out, and the temperatures warm up enough to be outside longer than 5 minutes at a time. But… We ALL know that Utah just likes to play tricks on us. We are looking at a week of bad weather ahead but I am going to go ahead and blog these spring engagements anyway! Ashley and Tyler we SO much fun to be around! I absolutely loved hearing how they met, how they fell in love and how Tyler asked Ashley to marry him.
Tyler + Ashley
Let’s start at the very beginning, before their love story even started. I actually met Ashley when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I had shot for her brother and new sister in law (which you can see HERE ). I am so lucky to not only work with beautiful brides that always seem to have beautiful friends, but they also are pretty fun to hang out with and be around! Ashley was no exception! She (obviously) is a total knockout and I couldn’t believe she was single! But I guess it was just all about timing because when she called me to tell me she was engaged and wanted me to shoot her wedding, I was beyond excited! I knew it had to be someone pretty special because Ashley is the total package. So when I met Tyler, and saw them together, I knew they were perfect for one another! Engagements can always be a little nerve wracking when it comes to picking outfits, locations and then hoping the groom smiles and doesn’t hate life the whole time (because news flash: we all KNOW guys don’t love taking pictures like girls do!). Lucky for me, Tyler had me laughing (and Ashley) the whole time! It truly felt like all of us had been friends for forever and we were just playing catch up. They laughed at my lame jokes, they laughed at my inappropriate ones and Ashley even allowed me to snuggle her groom (don’t worry it was just to show her how I wanted HER to snuggle HIM!). Now to the good part of the story…
How He Asked
Tyler, being the romantic that he is, planned a night for just the two of them, or so Ashley thought. He had covered a room in a million rose petals and had a row of candles leading up a path to where he knelt down and asked for her hand in marriage. The whole room was pitch black with the exception of the candles, so what Ashley didn’t know is that all of her favorite friends and family members were there watching too! Tyler got down on one knee, popped the question and then they were able to celebrate right then and there with all their loved ones. It was a night they will always remember.
Location
Now let’s fast forward to these beautiful spring engagements! Utah has an abundance of beautiful places to take pictures in the spring, but they chose to do the foothills by Ashley’s hometown. She grew up staring at these rollings hills and mountains and knew she wanted to have a little part of that in their love story! This was my first time shooting here, and while that can always make me a little nervous (mostly because I want to deliver images my clients love and dream about) this spot did NOT disappoint! It was THE perfect location that screamed “Spring Engagements” and spring has arrived! It will without a doubt continue to be in my rotation of favorite places to soot! Now if only winter would go away and make room for spring!! I can’t WAIT for the mountains to be green again!
