Thanksgiving Point Session
Meet the Ferran family. This is the kind of family that makes their mark on you as soon as you meet them and you always want to be in their atmosphere! I am truly honored they asked me to capture their family session at Thanksgiving Point in Levi, Utah.

How We Met
I met Ashley (Sly Beauty) through a mutual friend, Kylie. Kylie was getting her business up and running (shoutout to Piper and Scoot that is KILLING IT!). Ashley and I immediately hit it off and now it feels like I have known her my whole life. She is the type of girl that brightens up a room the moment she walks in. She is the type of friend that, even when you don’t SEE her every day (or week), she is in your corner rooting for you. We may go weeks without talking, but this girl is authentic, loyal and without a doubt one of my most cherished friends!
That’s the thing about this business: I get to meet the most incredible people. I absolutely adore Ashley and I am so grateful for her friendship. We have laughed (a whole heck of a lot of LOUD, belly laughter) and cried together. I have balled my eyes out in her salon chair, and I have hugged her when life threw her a few curveballs as well. She has cheered me on and is ALWAYS so kind and sending brides my way. I have cheered this beauty on as she has taken her company from one level the next AND launched a brand new travel makeup bag! (P.S. if you haven’t seen or heard about the EVERNEED….you NEED to!)
Good girlfriends are hard to find, BUT Ashley is just the BEST!
When Ashley found out that her mom was diagnosed with cancer, it felt like a ton of bricks falling on your chest. Annette was an incredible mother, wife and always looking outside herself to help others. When Ash asked me to shoot their family portraits at Thanksgiving Point, I immediately said yes. No hesitation. But the human side of me was terrified. How do I shoot a session knowing these will most likely be their last family photos together? How do I keep it together and not cry my eyes out the whole time? Lucky for me, their session was filled with SO much love, that it was truly impossible to be sad. The amount of pure, authentic, undying love for this woman was unmeasurable. There were no tears, just love. Just smiles, because each one of them knew this wasn’t the end. They had a testimony that their family is an eternal one. Though this trial is something they have to walk through, they know they are not alone. Seeing Ashley’s unwavering testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ only deepened my own. What an incredible family. Annette was an amazing woman.
I am forever grateful for the opportunity I had to spend time on this gorgeous, memory-filled evening at Thanksgiving Point with the Ferran Family. They have forever made an impression on my heart and my testimony of a loving Heavenly Father. Annette didn’t go without a fight and didn’t go without first thinking of others! They set up a twelve months of service drive and she went to work to “lose herself in service”. I can think of no better example than her, that when the going gets tough, the tough gets going!
