Choose Your Team

First, your bridal party will be your biggest supporters so get your team together and stack it full of all of your favorite people; people that you love and trust to help you along your way. Having a strong team means being able to delegate responsibilities to individuals that will help relieve the stress that is sure to be present during the entire planning process.Close up of wedding bouquet | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer
Budget

Before you can move on with your plans, you have to know what your budget is so a good place to start, once you have you have your support team in place, is to talk to your fiancé and those involved to decide what you have to spend. This will help you know what you can live without and what you can’t.

Book your wedding videographer and then find yourself a wedding photographer that will help you feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera. Being a photographer myself, this is a BIG one! Everyone has that someone they know that “takes pictures” but we’re are talking about this BIGGEST. DAY. OF.  YOUR. LIFE! Trust me, find someone that is professional and so you are guaranteed to have your best moments captured and every minute documented.

Pick a date

Pick a few different dates that will work for you and your fiancé and go from there.  Be sure to be mindful of the time of year and what your family and friends will have going on in their lives’ so that everyone you want at your wedding will be able to attend without issue.

Wedding Colors

Choose those wedding colors.  Your wedding is all about you and who you are. You want it to be reflection of your tastes and preferences so, although, current color trends may be beautiful, find something you know you will love. Stay true to your style. Starting early with a color scheme allows you to be on the lookout for decor or items for your wedding while you are in the planning process.

Guest List

Lastly, work on that guest list.  This can be one of the biggest projects in the beginning of the wedding planning process but once it’s done will give you an idea of what wedding venues will accommodate all of your family and friends. A good estimate of who will be attending will help you find the perfect place to hold your wedding/reception.Bridals with pink bouquet and strapless wedding dress | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer Bridals along the lake | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer Bouquet with ferns | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding PhotographerFerns and roses bouquet | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer bridals on a rocky beach | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer Bridals with Utah Photographer Brooke Bakken | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer Jump Start your wedding plans with these tips | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding PhotographerBride pulling hair from face | Jump Start your wedding plans with these tips | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer Solo of bride | Jump Start your wedding plans with these tips | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding PhotographerBride with mountain background | Jump Start your wedding plans with these tips | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer Close up of bouquet | Jump Start your wedding plans with these tips | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer Beautiful mountain and lake setting for bridals | Brooke Bakken | Utah Wedding Photographer
