One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is capturing natural and fun moments between my couples. These candid interactions result in heartfelt and authentic photographs that truly reflect their love. To achieve these portraits, I provide prompts during my sessions that encourage genuine reaction- and I’m sharing my top five prompts for engagement photos to ensure my couples have a blast while being themselves in front of the camera.
Prompts for Engagement Photos
Prompt #1: Hold hands, walk, bumping hips, and laugh at each other
This prompt allows for natural movement to be captured and the laughs are genuine because bumping hips is pretty funny– especially with a height difference between the couple.
Prompt #2: Give a bear hug and whisper your favorite fast food order in your sexiest voice into your significant other’s ear or cheekbone area.
This one is one of my favorites because it always gets genuine laughter out of everyone!
Prompt #3: Give her a piggyback ride… then kiss the crap outta his face!
The images that this prompt invokes are fun and sweet, with a smile on everyone’s face.
Prompt #4: Kiss cheeks, three times and in between kisses, whisper what you love about the other.
For a more intimate moment, I love pulling this prompt out. Not only are you able to capture from different angles, it gives your couple a moment to tell each other what they love about one another bringing emotions out.
Prompt #5: Put your arm around her shoulder, hold hands, walk towards me.. Now kiss and snuggle!
This prompt gives both fun vibes and sweet, classic engagement photo moments with movement. It’s definitely a winner!
