Utah Mountain Engagments

I know I say it all the time, but Bri and Brady really are the CUTEST together! Watching both of them light up as they look at other is exactly why I LOVE doing what I do. I can’t get enough of the way they lean on each other in each of their photos and how safe they look in each other’s arms. The Utah mountain backdrop added that much more romance to their shoot.

Love Story – Bri’s Version

When Bri’s mom moved in the spring of 2015 next door to a certain someone’s older sister, the story began. Bri’s mom started telling her all about Brady. After some quick Facebook stalking though, she decided he wasn’t really her type. However, in the fall, he moved to Utah to go back to school and moved in with his older sister, Nikki, and her family who happend to live next door! They finally met on November 6th, and he asked for her number (even though Nikki had already given it to him. SOOOOO sneaky). I love the rest of what Bri had to say, “I wish I could go back in time and see his face for the first time, standing on my mom’s doorstep, coming over unannounced to meet me. We were with each other for the second time the next day where we drove around in his car listening to mutually loved music (He tried to teach me how to drive his car, it’s a manual transmission. I failed miserably.), streaked the Timpanogos High School football field in our birthday suits, and had our first kiss (I initiated!). We clicked SO fast and so easily.” How CUTE!

Love Story – Brady’s Version

Brady (living in Florida at the time) met up with his sister at a U2 concert in Denver and while they were there she mentioned that she had this super awesome neighbor that he should take on a date. He shrugged and said “Okay. I’ll take anyone on a date” and then rocked out to U2 for the rest of the night. Haha! I LOVE his honesty!!! As with Bri, the next step was Facebook stalking only his version includes him picking his jaw up from the floor.  He was thinking, “My sister wanted to set me up with HER?” He figured Bri would blow me off in a heartbeat so he forgot about her and blamed the distance between Florida and Utah as a reason to not pursue it. You can’t just show up for a blind date and casually mention you had flown in from Florida for it. He didn’t want to seem desperate.

Dating and Proposal – Bri’s Version

The following week Brady’s family was headed to a reunion in Disneyland and he totally shocked her with an invitation to fly out and spend the week with him. So she ditched school, flew out and they spent the week together! After spending the week together, Bri gets scared about how fast things are moving and breaks up with him. She admits it was dumb. Haha!  Then couple weeks later, after realizing how lucky she was to know someone as amazing as Brady, and to have someone who treated me so so so wonderfully, they started talking and spending time together again. Fast forward to Brady proposing on April 5th in Long Beach, CA.  She said it was one of the sweetest and best days ever.  They’ve spent every day together since.

Dating and Proposal – Brady’s Version

Fast forward to Brady moving back to Utah. His sister tells him to take this girl out finally and gives him her number. He decided to message her on Facebook, only to not hear anything back from her.  He figures with him going to California for a week, he wouldn’t want her to get too obsessed with him only to leave for a week (HA!!)  so to avoid all the drama and waiting, he just went over to her house at 10:30 one night and knocked on the door. To his surprise, she was there and was SO nervous!  They sat and got to know each other. He says, “I thought it went super well (she’ll tell you a different story).” You know they then get together the next night, but his version sounds more like, he lets her burn up the clutch in his car (worth it), helps her achieve a lifelong dream of kissing on the Timpanogos T, and then sitting up talking for hours and hours about life each others interests. He describes the night and how they instantly “clicked.” He didn’t want to end the awesome start they had so he invited her to California with him and they had an entire week together. Things couldn’t have been better and he proposed in April. Wait, didn’t he leave out a part about a break up in here and her getting scared? Ha! I LOVE it!

Bri had so many things to share about what and why she loves Brady but my favorite it that she said, “He is my #1 support and my best friend. We’ve grown, laughed, cried, and loved so much over the past year. It has, without a doubt, been the best year I’ve ever had. I’m unimaginably lucky to spend the rest of my life eating peanut butter bars and CPK avocado egg rolls, binging Netflix and traveling all over with him!” You can’t go wrong binging on good food and Netflix with your best friend by your side. It’s evident Brady is crazy about Bri and for all of the right reasons. These two are made for each other and it’s evident in all of the photos I captured of the two of them. They both said it best when they said they click.Couple laughs during engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Sunlit engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Engaged couples hugs | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Bri and Brady engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Engagement photos up Utah mountains | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Utah engagemed couple | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Forehead kiss | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Red dress for engagement pictures | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Couple embraces during engagement shoot | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Red dress for engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Formal engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Cozy engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Romantic engagement session | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Taking a walk | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer What to wear for engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Holing hand at engagement session | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Sunset and red dress | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Sunset and mountain meadows | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer mountain meadow engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Engaged couple poses in Utah Mountains | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Men's suit | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Stealling a kiss | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer What to wear for engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Sunlit kiss | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer Utah mountain sunset | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement PhotographerUtah Mountain engagements | Brooke Bakken | Utah Engagement Photographer
