Bridals

Utah State Capitol Bridals | Baylee + Birch | Utah Bridal Photographer

Utah State Capitol

Baylee and Birch are the BEST! I loved their location at the Utah State Capitol building and capturing their bridals. It was beautiful and majestic and was perfect for the two of them. There are so many favorites from their session that I couldn’t possibly pick one, from their first look, to walking the grounds at the capitol, to Baylee sitting on the steps, I love them all and hope you will too!

How They Met

Baylee and Birch met helping a mutual friend with his student body president campaign. Baylee first saw Birch from across the room and wondered why she had never met him before! Next thing she knew she had walked on over and started helping him out and there was an instant connection. One thing led to another and Birch asked for her number.  He got Baylee’s number that night and by the next weekend they had gone on their first date and  from then on never stopped going out on dates! With a political background  to their love story like that maybe the Utah State Capitol building was in fact just the right location for bridals. Haha!

Love Story

Dating Birch was easy is how Baylee put it.   She said she loved how from the beginning they were a team and how they could talk about everything.  She loves how they are still a great team and LOVES how they strengthen and uplift each other. It was clear they are perfect together and that their love story is full of strength and optimism.

About two months after these two had met, it was spring break and Birch was in California with his family. Baylee and her 2 best friends were heading down to St. George for their own spring break, but on the way down as Baylee was talking to Birch he convinced the group of them to drive an extra 6 hours and go to Newport to see him. Newport or bust!!!  Haha!!! So spontaneous and fun! I love that they went for it!  That’s when Baylee knew she really loved him. I guess if you drive all the way to California just to spend a little more time together than that’s telling you something.   Bridal session with | Brooke Bakken | Utah Bridal Photographer Wedding gown | Brooke Bakken | Utah Bridal PhotographerThe Proposal

I love the stories where the boyfriend is so sneaky and tricky when it comes to the proposal. Sure enough, Birch tricked Baylee in to thinking she was going to present at a club meeting. Her she is preparing for that as she walks all the way to the room where they met, only to find it is filled with all of their family and friends. He gets down on his knee and asks her to marry him! Baylee was so surprised and LOVED it!

Baylee says, “I love how much we love each other. We truly feel like the luckiest people in the world that we are together and get to love each other. We make each other happier than we could have ever imagined.” They love finding new things to do together; new restaurants to try, new movies to go to, or new activities neither have ever tried.  If they aren’t out finding new things to try together they are content spending time together doing their favorite things that are there go-tos the rest of the time.

I wasn’t kidding, isn’t the Utah State Capitol building that much more beautiful with these two love birds parading across the grounds? Bride's wedding shoes | Brooke Bakken | Utah Bridal Photographer Bride's shoes | Brooke Bakken | Utah Bridal Photographer
