Wedding Venues in Salt Lake City
One of these days, I’m going to write a whole blog post about all of the amazing wedding venues in Salt Lake City, but for today, I am focusing on one of my favorites, the Utah State Capitol building! I was SO glad Maryn & Jimmy chose to do their First Look and Bridals at the Capitol…everything there just feels SO elegant, like it’s just made for a bride and groom!
How They Met
Jimmy & Maryn actually grew up 30 minutes away from each other in Southern California, but they didn’t really get to know each other until after they got back from their missions. They did know who the other was from the RAGING youth dances every Saturday night put on by the LDS Church (which were actually really fun and cool)! Things really started at a New Year’s Eve dance at Dave & Busters. Jimmy showed up with a broken arm and intense concussion from snowboarding a few days earlier, so it’s a wonder he even remembers the night…Maryn must have made quite the impression!
Their Love Story
After the New Year’s Eve dance, they both moved to Provo, Utah to attend BYU. They ended up living a block away from each other. They started talking constantly, and that turned into a long road trip to Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona where they held hands for the first time (AWWW)! That quickly turned into being together All. The. Time. Maryn says she fell in love the second they started spending time together, but she KNEW one weekend when all their friends were out of town and they spent the whole weekend going on adventures and talking!
How He Asked
At the end of the summer before school started again, Jimmy and Maryn were visiting Jimmy’s brother in San Francisco and being total tourists. At sunset after an absolutely perfect day, they drove to a lookout of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was cold and windy, and the Bay Area fog had settled over the bridge. But Maryn didn’t even feel the cold as Jimmy got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, giving her the most GORGEOUS custom-designed ring she had ever seen!
Looking Forward
Jimmy & Maryn love to SNUGGLE. So they are super excited to be able to walk home together at the end of the day, eat every meal together, and have their own home! They love to get out and go on hikes and enjoy nature, and Jimmy really loves to drive up to Salt Lake City for any reason he can find. And they LOVE delicious food (my kind of people)!
