5 Reasons to do a Formal Session Before Your Temple Wedding
Today on the blog, I am sharing Jared and Kellie’s formal session in Mapleton, Utah County. I’m also giving you 5 reasons to do a formal session before your temple wedding! Many of the couples I have the pleasure of working with get married in LDS temples. That being said, making the time for bridals before your wedding day will be more than worth your while- I guarantee it!
5 Reasons to do a Formal Session Before Your Wedding
1.) First Look- LDS temple couples do not have the opportunity to do a first look because ceremonies cannot be photographed. The absolute best way for LDS couples to have their first look experience is to do it at their formal session. Your wedding day will be filled with people…lots of people! A bridal session is the perfect way to dwell in each other’s atmosphere and take it all in without having to worry about acknowledging other people. Plus, it gives your photographer the opportunity to capture your groom’s reaction to you in your dress! What a romantic way to celebrate your upcoming marriage! I can’t wait for you to see Kellie and Jared’s first look below!
2.) It’s the Perfect Opportunity to Schedule Your Trial Run for Hair and Makeup- Chances are, you plan on getting your hair and makeup done for the big day. That being said, you will need to schedule a trial with your hair and makeup artist to ensure they help you achieve the very look you are going for! Why not schedule it on the same day you have your bridal session? Not only will you be able to knock out both on the same day, but you will be wedding-day ready for your bridal session photos!
3.) Time- On any given day, a temple can have double digit weddings! That being said, if just one wedding were to run behind by 10 minutes, the remaining weddings of the day would be set back, too. If this were to happen, we would most likely lose precious portrait time to try and make up for lost time with your day-of timeline. Doing a bridal session beforehand will be comforting to have when the chaos of your wedding day arrives!
4.) Golden Hour Lighting- Need I say more?! The best time to do portraits is when the sun is at its lowest during the last two hours of the day. Because of temple time constraints, this is not possible during an LDS wedding. The golden hour lighting of the day’s end creates such a romantic scene for you and yours truly to be photographed. Don’t miss out on it!
5.) You Get to Wear Your Dress an Extra Day- I’ll let this one speak for itself!
