Amanda & Greg’s Fall Wedding at Sleepy Ridge

Amanda and Greg’s fall wedding at Sleepy Ridge in Utah was everything a bride could hope for and then some! Their day was full of love, tributes to those loved ones gone too soon and the most perfect fall weather Utah had to offer!

How We Met

Amanda and I share a mutual best friend, but up until she was engaged we had never met in real life. I had heard SO much about this beautiful human from our mutual friend Heather, but in true working #momlife fashion….the 3 of us never actually hung out before Amanda hired me to shoot her wedding. It pays to have friends who will be your HYPE SQUAD and talk you up to their friends even when you aren’t around. Amanda hired me solely on Heather’s recommendation and I couldn’t be more grateful to both of them that she did!

About the Venue

Amanda is a Utah transplant (originally from back east) but Greg grew up in Utah county. When they decided to get hitched they felt that their love would be best celebrated in the state that brought the two of them together. They picked Sleepy Ridge for its gorgeous mountain views and BEAUTIFUL vaulted ceilings with room to DANCE! And although it threatened rain on their big day, in true Utah weather fashion…the weather turned out to be GORGEOUS!

Their day could not have been more perfect! Amanda, being a bride who knew EXACTLY what she wanted, had every detail planned down to the minute. Truly, even their timeline was absolutely PERFECT!

The color palette was perfect and the bride chose to only have her mom in the room while she got ready, just to keep things truly intimate and special between mother and daughter. It was such a change of pace for me as a photographer but I LOVED the quiet, calm and peace it brought to the day. As a couple they allowed for time between the two of them before the ceremony started, and their first look, although a teary one, was unforgetable.   I have never seen Amanda smile the way I did during her first look. She was beaming from ear to ear and Greg couldn’t take his eyes off her. But really could you blame him? She was jaw dropping!

A Wedding to Remember

The ceremony was a bright one, but the one thing I will remember forever, is the chairs they left open (with the coolest jackets) for each parent that had passed. Greg’s mother (a die hard BYU fan) had a BYU jacket on her chair, and Amanda’s late father (a die hard Notre Dame fan) a jacket on his. I love watching couples pay tribute to their loved ones on days like these that are so special and unique. There is no doubt, they were watching down and smiling upon their union.

The rest of the night was absolutely INCREDIBLE and we ended the night with a firework show and sparklers. What a way to end the day right? Amanda & Greg’s fall wedding at Sleepy Ridge was one for the books! Beautiful details, TO DIE FOR florals, a couple madly in love and SO MUCH support and love from their friends and family to celebrate! It was a wedding I will never forget!
